Overview

SubLens is a privacy-first subscription tracker for iOS. Your financial data never leaves your device. We built SubLens with a simple principle: your data belongs to you.

Information We Do Not Collect

SubLens is designed to process your data entirely on-device. We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to:

• Financial statements (PDF files you import)
• Transaction data (descriptions, amounts, dates, merchants)
• Subscription information (detected services, renewal dates, decisions)
• Chat conversations with the AI assistant
• Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
• Device identifiers used for tracking
• Location data
• Contacts or photos

How SubLens Works

On-Device Processing

When you import a credit card statement:

1. The PDF is read and processed entirely on your iPhone
2. Text extraction and transaction parsing happen locally
3. Subscription detection uses on-device algorithms
4. The AI assistant runs on-device without internet
5. All data remains in the app's secure, sandboxed storage

No data is ever uploaded to our servers because we don't have servers that receive user data.

No Account Required

SubLens does not require:

• Sign-in or registration
• Email address
• Phone number
• Any form of user account

You can use SubLens fully without providing any personal information.

Data Storage

Where Your Data Lives

All data is stored exclusively on your iPhone in the app's private, sandboxed storage:

• Imported statements
• Parsed transactions
• Detected subscriptions
• Your decisions (keep/cancel)
• Reminder settings
• AI chat history
• App preferences

Data Security

Your data is protected by:

• iOS App Sandbox: SubLens cannot access data from other apps
• iOS Data Protection: Files are encrypted when your device is locked
• Optional App Lock: Face ID or passcode protection within SubLens

Data Deletion

You can delete all app data at any time:

1. Go to Settings > Delete all data
2. Confirm the deletion
3. All statements, transactions, subscriptions, and chat history are permanently removed

Alternatively, deleting the SubLens app removes all associated data.

In-App Purchases

SubLens offers optional in-app purchases (Annual Premium with a 14-day free trial, and Lifetime Unlock).

What Apple Handles

When you make a purchase, Apple processes the transaction through the App Store. Apple's standard purchase information applies. We do not receive or store:

• Your payment method
• Credit card details
• Apple ID
• Transaction receipts (beyond what's needed for entitlement verification)

What We Store

For purchase entitlements, we store locally on your device:

• Whether annual premium or lifetime unlock is active
• Cached expiration date for annual access
• Management URL metadata when provided by Apple/RevenueCat

This information never leaves your device.

Diagnostics (Crash & Performance Reporting)

App Store release builds of SubLens include Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics, used solely to detect and diagnose crashes and reliability issues in the on-device AI assistant (model download, load, and inference). This diagnostics layer:

• Is not required for the app to function. Statement import, subscription detection, reminders, and the on-device assistant all work identically whether or not a diagnostic event is ever recorded.
• Never receives financial content. Every value is passed through the same redaction rules that govern all app logging, then filtered against a fixed, content-free allowlist (crash/error category, build number, OS version, device model, model download/size counters, configuration values) before it can reach Firebase. Statement text, transaction descriptions, amounts, and merchant names are structurally excluded — not merely omitted by convention.
• Is not linked to your identity. SubLens has no sign-in and no account, so crash and diagnostic data cannot be tied to a name, email, or other personal identifier.
• Is never used to track you. We do not share diagnostic data with data brokers or advertisers, and we do not use it for cross-app or cross-site tracking.
• Is limited to a small, fixed set of events, all about the on-device AI-model pipeline (download progress, load, inference timing/failures) — never your statements, transactions, subscriptions, or chat content.

If we ever expand this diagnostics layer beyond what's described here, we will update this privacy policy before enabling the change, and we will not add analytics that create user profiles or enable cross-app tracking.

Third-Party Services

SubLens limits third-party services to what commerce and diagnostics require. Specifically:

• No advertising SDKs
• Firebase Crashlytics + Firebase Analytics — diagnostics only, gated to App Store release builds, content-free (see Diagnostics above)
• No social media SDKs
• No user tracking or profiling services

The only external services involved are Apple's App Store (in-app purchases, governed by Apple's own privacy policy) and Firebase (diagnostics, governed by Google's privacy policy for the limited, content-free data described above).

Children's Privacy

SubLens does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13. Since we don't collect any personal information, there is no age-specific data handling.

International Users

SubLens processes all data on your device. Since we don't transmit data to servers, there are no international data transfers to consider.

Your Rights

Because we don't collect your data, traditional data rights (access, correction, deletion requests to us) don't apply in the usual sense. However:

• Access: All your data is visible within the app
• Correction: You can modify subscription decisions and reminders anytime
• Deletion: Delete all data via Settings > Delete all data
• Portability: Export your data as a PDF report

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the app and on our website. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.

For significant changes, we will provide notice through the app.
